Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi. He was a student of Vishal Bharti Public School in Delhi. When he was just 9 years old, he became part of West Delhi Cricket Academy where he was trained under Rajkumar Sharma.

His father was a criminal lawyer who died in 2006 and mother is a housewife. He have one older brother Vikas and an older sister Bhavna.

In 2002 he first played for Polly Umrigar Trophy of Delhi in Under 15 team. He was a leading run maker of that team and became a captain of the same team after 1 year.

While playing in Under 17 team for Vijay Merchant Trophy in 2004, his team won the trophy. He was the highest run scorer of that team with 757 runs in just 7 matches.

In 2006 when Virat Kohli was in Under 19 team, he impressed Lalchand Sitaram Rajput with his strong technical skills.

In December 2006 he came into spotlight when he played against Karnataka with his team on the day his father died. He scored 90 runs in that match and went directly to funeral after he was dismissed. This was a courageous act of commitment and determination which impressed Mithun Manhas and Chetan Chauhan.

He was a highest run maker of Inter State T-20 Champianship which was played in 2007. While being in under 19 he captained and won many matches including ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup which was held in Malaysia.

He made his first ODI debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka and his first T20 International Debut in 2010 against West Indies.

Because of his tremendous game-play he was selected as a vice captain in 2011 and as a captain in 2013 of IPL franchise Royal Challengers.

In 2014 he became 2nd player in the world to make more than 1000 runs in ODI for consecutive calendar years. In same year he and Anjana Reddy launched a fashion brand ‘Wrogn’.

In 2015 Virat Kohli invested more than $ 13 Million to open multiple gyms and fitness centers across India.

After being in relationship with Anushka Sharma for over 4 years, he got married with Anushka Sharma on 11 December 2017 in Italy.
